PSA

When you're in a relationship, you're equal partners, not another person's bitch. You should not be giving up self respect and dignity in exchange for love. That's not how it's supposed to work. Everyone says what it is supposed to be, people more often than not forget to mention what it isn't.
It isn't about letting go of your identity.
It isn't about letting yourself be disrespected just for the sake of all the emotions you've invested.
Will there be a few hiccups? That's only natural.  But when you have to fight to be respected; then its more than a hiccup, it's a virus and it has to be gotten rid of.
No boy/girl is worth sacrificing your sense of identity.
If they can't respect who you are and what boundaries you set, that person is a bad idea to be attached to.
You can't hope for things to be better when all that they've proven to you is that this is how they are in the core of the being.

That's like sticking around in the desert in the hopes of a summer rain. Possible but highly unlikely.

The study of blue agarbattis

Lately, I have been going through some trying times in life. Times where a lot of my emotional faculties have been put to test. These times have helped me deduce how I handle situations, people and situations because of people. The prognosis being, I wasn’t a very strong person, I needed only the slightest discomfort to send me down a spiral. And by virtue of my weakness, it was hard for me to find my way back up to that spiral. I lose direction because of a small breeze, I get out of my boat even before I start my voyage if I see a disruptive wave in the sea. It was prudent, cautious and comfortable. That’s it, just comfortable and content, and if I was anything other than that, it was the end of the world to me.

But today, this very small incident, jerked me back to perspective. My sister and I were on our way to an eatery, escaping the piercing heat. There was a paraplegic boy probably my age, sitting on the side of the road with the most pleasant smile his face could muster owing to the heat and dust. He had a bright blue packet in his hand, he ever so slightly motioned towards it. Like every other passer-by, I smiled and declined. And just like some of the passers-by, the wave of sympathy hit me and I ran back towards him and asked him how much it was. He looked at deadpan and said, “जानने के बिना आप क्यों खरीद रहे हैं, दीदी?” or something of that sort, which basically meant “Why’re you buying without knowing what it is?” His polite refusal of my sympathy, turned it into empathy. I said summoned up all the Hindi I could and said, “Because it looks nice.” He laughed my awkwardness off, and there ended our business transaction. I know it sounds extremely cliché, but even though I was just another customer to him, he filled my God-shaped hole.

Being a volunteer in an NGO that helps people with the same condition as him, I have seen many of these cases.  Even though our interaction was brief, from the energy he expelled, I knew he was the rare cases who faced life with such gusto. I have always gotten what I wanted in life, yet I wouldn’t stop complaining about what I don’t have. I’m sure, he too has days when he wonders why life was unfair to him. But it hasn’t stopped him from making himself a valuable asset of his family than a loved liability. It gave me answers to “What if all my efforts are futile, what if I never make it?” It pushed me to find my direction, to escape my comfort zone, to not fear its futility but rather embrace the effort. And the sweetest cherry on top, I got myself some lovely smelling incense sticks.

Woe is to the Mime

The Mime is stuck in his box,
Someone locked him in.
He can’t get out,
Someone hear his shout!

The Mime is stuck with no escape,
He is tied by his principles.
He can barely say a word,
For the first time, he wants to be heard.

People walk by, smiling at his charade,
They leave change in his hat.
They think he is doing a good job,
But critical of his makeup, it’s not hiding his sob.

Fool! You are on open ground,
Only in your mind, you are bound.
But the pressure, oh the pressure!
Could break you into pieces you couldn’t measure.

Mime, get out of the box!
Make your own key,
Open the latch with a crowbar, if you must!

Only you can set yourself free!

On Creation

I came across this post on #9Gag, that spoke about the universe being a single atom, the sun its nucleus, the planets its electrons and neutrons and we are all sub atomic particles. It ended with "as above so below, right?"

Although this theory is scientifically incorrect, given there are a hundred million stars, and more galaxies. It really messes with your brain. When you think your city is big, think about how tiny this planet is.

I have this rather annoying habit of being lost in thoughts of the universe in its grandest form. And I float in my head, just like a stray planet. With no particular meaning or aim, but still existing anyway. These thoughts do nothing but screw around with your thought process. You start feeling insignificant and you really wonder what your purpose is.

When your ego inflates to a point where you can start floating like Aunt Marge in Harry Potter, remember, the Universe does not really care. It's too big for that. That ought to do the trick, it's like a pin to your balloon. These thoughts are terrifying, they really make you ponder why you're even alive.

There are people in my neighborhood that do not know of me! Forget the city, state, country, continent and planet. How am I to make a dent in the Universe if the Universe itself is just a single part of the multiverse?
Long story short, we are all too insignificant to really make an impact.

And just when I feel as pointless as the first loaf of bread, I remember.
There is a whole universe inside me, every organ is made up of tissues, which in turn is a cell and that gets further divided into tinier things I do not know of. So what if, those things started thinking they were pointless and they stopped working? I would stop working too.

That's how I make myself feel better.

We make our own Universes, we can include whatever we like and let the rest happen. Ours can be as widespread and grand as we please, or as small and compact as we like. And in our Universe, we make differences,
We let the good energies flow in and let the bad ones get out. Like the big one, ours too is always expanding. But it is up to us to make it starry and wondrous with happiness and love or to make it bleak and dim with toxic worry and hatred.
And once our Universes have been impacted, maybe just like the body, the larger picture too feels the ripples of the impact.

After all, as above so below, right?

On Everything

Everything is a big word,
Every thing is two small words,
Everything starts at nothing,
Goes on to something,
Stretches to eternity.

Everything can be all the stars in the universe,
Everything can be in confined to four walled rooms,
Everything can be what you are to me,
Everything can be unanimous,
Everything is magnanimous.

Everything hides in plain sight,
Everything is darkness is daylight,
Everything is limitless.
Everything is boundless.
Everything is infinite.

She

She sat on the edge,
Cigarette butt clenched in her knuckle,
She doesn't have to light it,
Just her introspection,
Made her insides blaze

The aftertaste isn't the best sundae,
It tastes like failure to her,
But she also tasted the thrill,
She felt the adrenaline course through.

Chaotic music gives her peace,
That's her, finding the storm,
Getting to the eye of it,
That was her ivory tower.

Exhilaration was what she chased after,
The thrill kept her running,
As the sandman slowly neared,
She shed a single tear.

Treadmarks, Skid lines

In this road that stretches on to eternity,
We are all, but, commuters.
Some have it good in a big car,
Others have it bad, skin against the tar.

They will judge you,
The sun will beat down on you,
You are not going to have it easy,
But then there is always company.

Some are with you from the beginning,
Others you pick up along the way,
Some are just hitch hikers,
You will know the ones that are here to stay.

I guess by the end of it,
You've seen what you wanted to see,
You've felt what you wanted to feel,
You are as alive as you will ever be.

And when you hit the breaks,
You can put on your best smile,
And declare,
This! Has indeed been the finest hour!

Justified paradox

Claustrophobia in an open ground,
Scream out loud without a sound,
Thoughts reverberate the heart,
Emotions ripping and tearing apart,
This silence is numbing,
Strong walls are crumbling,
Keep your smiling face,
The pseudo-joy is all a daze,
Bottomless pit of confusion,
The soul's bracing for the explosion.

The storm is bound to lapse,
It'll warp in itself as it contracts,
The wreckage is going to clear,
The light at the end is near,
Stay strong,
Don't be afraid to be wrong.
You're a brave Eagle,
You're a lion, strong and regal.
You're a fox, quick on the feet,
You're human, not willing to accept defeat.

Don't mind this insanely cool lion looking at you. Picture Courtesy: #Pinterest

Thunderstorm

The rumbling thunder whispers,
Making the howling cats to disperse,
The doors and windows shiver in reply,
The dogs run around, awry.

The lightning whips,
The rain drips,
A drop after the other,
Like a child following its mother.

The mosquitoes swarm in for shelter,
The mosquito bats, wave helter-skelter,
Oh by Odin's beard!
Why is a thunderstorm so feared?

Many like I,
Enjoy the chaos in the sky,
The beauty of damage,
The riot, the destruction, the ravage!
Would you want to be stuck in a thunderstorm like this?

Nope.

It was never the tiger's fault.

DISCLAIMER: I'm not being insensitive and heartless. I am not against the youth's family. I am just against the tiger being put down.

A couple of weeks back, at the top right corner of my daily newspaper, I see this photo of a youth that's in spitting distance of quite a majestic white tiger. The caption read, "youth mauled to death by a white tiger after falling into the enclosure." The whole day, I kept thinking of that boy, and I could only imagine the trauma his family went through. Later the news said that the tiger might be put down. And here are a few reasons why they shouldn't.

Firstly, it might be my lack of knowledge, but I don't get how anyone could accidentally fall into the enclosure, either the zoo was really that horribly maintained or it wasn't quite by "accident". And plus, the tiger did not jump out of it's enclosure and grab a poor passerby. The boy was in the tiger's turf.

Secondly, there are reports which say that the tiger upon encountering the boy, did nothing but look at him for 10 minutes straight.  The paralyzing terror that must have taken over his senses must be horrifying, I mean, you don't expect an actual Richard Parker to be staring right into your eyes. But those 10-15 minutes is enough time for the zoo to tranquilize the tiger and safely haul the youth out and not let the tiger maul the youth out. The zoo then says that they weren't prepared for it and that only authorized personnel can use the dart gun. What I don't get is, do they not know that they are working at a zoo? A place where wild animals are caged and ill-treated for the amusement of humans, are they not supposed to be ready for these kind of incidents?! They can't just say that they weren't "prepared"! So not only do they have no infrastructure, they also have no presence of mind or sense.

But what I don't get is, what possible justification is there for the tiger to be put down? It has the right to be provoked, when onlookers start throwing stones at it. When the animal sensed a threat, it took what he was rightfully his and ran into the safety of his enclosure. It's not like the tiger knows what is to be eaten and what isn't. He was born with animal instincts and will die with animal instincts. One cannot expect a tiger to think like a human. Funny part is, what would be the case if all the deer started protesting because tigers are their fellow species? What gives man the right to think he's superior?

Finally, I must applaud the audience who dutifully recorded this horrific incident on their smartphones to forward to all the numbers they can think of, who in turn will forward to their contacts. But I request all of you who have recieved the video to refrain from forwarding it further and preferably deleting it from your phone. The boy's family needs your empathy not your sympathy. Understand the trauma and hardship the family is going through, on top of which their son's death is a forward on WhatsApp. It's not going to be easy on them. I request you all to take that video down, and say a prayer for that family to enable them to be strong through this bad time and to keep them under His care.
Sorry if this picture disturbs you.

Monologue?

Dear kitchen appliances, doormats, aunties,

This one is for you, no, I wouldn't like anything to eat, I just want you to listen to me. Yes, I do know I have lost my complexion, it's just an extra dose of melanin that's showing on my body, don't worry it's not the end of the world. I want you to liste- no aunty, I am not studying to become a doctor or an engineer. There are other occupations in this world too. No, my parents won't start looking for a suitor in three years time, when I think of the future, leaky nappies and squeaky toys isn't what I imagine. I intend to do much more than be oppressed by my husband, I intend to have as much as voice as him. It must be unladylike, but if that's what it takes to break away from social norms, be it.

Aunty, I don't want to be you.  I do not intend to learn to cook and clean for my husband who comes back from work, tired and waiting for his tea. I do not intend to worry my hair off in the tender age of 25 about what baby food my child will like best. I do not wish to gossip in sorority parties with other people of this kind, about who spent more money on what. I had an education not to keep my diploma framed on my bedroom wall, intended for my eyes only. I had an education, a very good one for that matter because my parents realized the need to be self-sufficient. You do not have to look down upon me because I wear what I please, if I am disrespecting my religion it's my problem not yours, your pseudo-worry is as fake as the smile you plaster when I tell you that I want to be independent. You do not have to worry about my lack of religion, for I see God differently from how you do. Your condescending voice that nags about modern women loosing their hold on traditional values, do not affect me. I do not want to be just a show piece in my husband's sleek house, I do not want to be the doormat that is designed to take everyone's mess. I desire individuality, set free from these chains of obligations and expectations.

There there.. that look again, no this is not the reason why my sisters are being raped. Primitive dogs that can not keep a hold of themselves are the reason why. Well obviously, men can't be blamed, Indian society has been designed to worship a Goddess and degrade your women. Men are superior and they shall decide, women are their play things and they should very much stay that way.

11 Promises To My Best Friend.

1) You will always be the first person to know about my wildest ideas and most important decisions.
2) I shall duly stand by all your stupid doings, laugh at you while you get humiliated and punch anybody else in the face who laughs at you.
3) I'm glad you make me hate all the people you do, laughing at them is so much funnier when its with you.
4) I shall hate all your boyfriends cause I honestly think no one is good enough for you. Especially the present one, he really is a jerk.
5) I promise to share Zac Efron with you when I get him.
6) I will never let you forget all your embarrassing moments and boyfriends, cross my heart and hope to die. :)
7) Your bachelorette party will be a night you don't remember but won't forget.
8) I'll be the most kick ass Maid Of Honour and even better Godmother.
9) I'm ever grateful to your convincing capabilities that got me into doing some crazy shit.
10) I am glad we met, cause I would cease to without that video of you getting your first tattoo.
11) I promise that you will always be my first love and confidante as I will yours.

Attention Span Of A Peanut.

The book is out in front of me, my precious highlighted notes stare at me.
I take a deep breath, in fact I do some yoga, just so that I'm ready.
I look at all my supplies, do I have what ever I need to do this? Oh no, I don't have my lucky exam board, let me just grab it.
Now that I have that, am I ready? Wait, I need water, just to be sure that I don't die of dehydration.
*wheeew* That was close, okay, now I am mentally prepared.
But no, I need to take a leak, all that water that I drank!
Finally, I can sit down to study, no more messing around.
Let me just check Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram for the last time, just so that I know there's no nuclear holocaust coming my way. Now that I have my phone, might as well check Tumblr, Twitter, all sorts of things I don't even care about.

Gee! Look at the time, it's an hour since I took my phone already! Okay, phone away.
Unleash the laptop, I think I have had enough of history already, I'll do some sample papers online.
Google Chrome is already open, along with mycbseguide.com, I guess a Facebook tab wouldn't hurt.

Oh no! An hour again? Let me just close that tab and put my phone away, serious study it is!

Damn, I can't figure out this sum, let me just look it up online while I slyly open my YouTube account too. The solution on the internet is too complicated, let me ask my friend on WhatsApp.

(Fifteen minutes later) Okay, serious study now. Let me just switch on the music on my phone.
Yay! I almost figured this su- the song's boring now, just a quick switch of tracks. Well waddaya know, I have to reply to these Snapchats and WhatsApps.

(Half an hour later)
Oh no, the books are waiting for me. Let's conquer this! Do not get tempted by the constant blinking of the green light on your phone, even though it means you have notifications. I'll do this paper and then-- ah what the hell, after this sum I will check.

(Half an hour later)
Okay, let's do this paper. It's this late already? Oh well, better luck tomorrow.

Well, I'd be damned.

A Great Brick Wall

When your words are stuck,
Poetic sense is out of luck,
When you can't express what you feel,
Lo behold, here is your Achilles' heel.

That's writer's block,
That writer's flow, is stopped by a rock,
The disability takes you by shock,
That's writer's block.

When your words fail to satisfy,
And your vocabulary can't imply,
You know your struggling to break that ice,
But now, simple struggle won't suffice.

That's writer's block,
Your creativity is in under key and lock,
Your imagination has been held on a dock,
That's writer's block.

Bottled up feelings, corked up tight,
Your demons for freedom, they fight,
You can't bring out what you want to say,
To express your self, you need some way,
But your words have run away!

That's writer's block,
Your words please you no more,
And that hurts to the very core.

Traffic Signal Business

Everyone uses roads, don't they? Unless you're reading this in your limited edition Vertu smartphone, while you're boarding your chopper to Milan from your duplex yacht called Naomi. But I bet you would have seen those grey stretches that's been there connecting people, places and potholes.

But I am talking about traffic signals and how eventful those few seconds are to the vendors that stick their faces on your window screen expecting you to buy those sun shield things that tear on the second day. I am talking about those people, who can make a pretty decent living by doing something productive than bringing a small crying baby with rags on for extra pity money. And the lottery ticket sellers, if they are so sure that there's assured money for every ticket, why can't they just buy the whole lot and wait for the lucky draw day? And my personal favorite, the little kids who sell balloons, yes, obviously, many people would buy an extra flashy balloon to obstruct their view while driving to get to their destinations as soon as possible.

I understand that I am not addressing to those people, but fellow observers, don't encourage these vendors. They do not realize the harm they are subjecting themselves to by demanding business from customers who won't even acknowledge their presence at their windows. They do not realise that they can get run over, the pollutants can make their own little city inside those lungs and those bad people who would do bad things to little girls or women that are trying to earn a living on such busy streets. The next time someone comes up to your window, smile at them, if they are asking for alms, give them food and then feel better about yourself and drive off to wherever you were going anyway.

A Passing

For 66 years he lived, for 17 years and 10 months he survived and for 2 months, he existed.

Imagine, you decide that you are to embark on a journey to the tip of this particular mountain, you know the roads, you have certain norms and you have two companions beside you. Now the catch of this journey is, the whole navigation should be in darkness. That is, you know the roads but you don't know what those roads contain. In the first leg of your journey, you're confused because of this sudden change in lighting, then you get used to it and you start liking it. And then you realize you're not alone, you have company. The journey goes on for a while then you start seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, you realize you're reaching your destination, suddenly you realize you don't want to go, you start slowing down, your slow moving is causing punctures. Other cars motion you to advance faster, and then you realize, anyway you're heading to your destination, might as well make the best of it. And so you reach your destination, knowing fully, that your journey was the best part.

Life is a wonderful thing, it is synonymous to existence, survival, validity, it's funny how all of this claims to have the same meaning, but it is 4 distinct realities. Carpe Diem and YOLO is applicable only for a short period. In the end, when we say our final goodbyes, it's our deeds that our remembered the most. Our face might not be remembered by posterity, it is our deeds. So while you're at it, do stuff that people might remember you for. It is upto your wisdom to realize if you ought to do it in a good way or other wise.

Don't take advice or musings from a 15 year old. You ought to already know this by now. I am nothing but expressing my thoughts because I hate bottling it in.

Artemisia Absinthium Absinthe

Alcohol, we all know what it is. We all know what it does, we all know how it works and we all know how much it can get to us. No one knows how or when this devil was created, presumably the result of an accident that occured very long back.

Partying is meraki for many, going with friends, getting drunk, going mad and waking up in the morning with the worst hangover. Oh not to mention post a billion photos on Instagram and a status on Facebook saying how much fun the night was although not many parts of it is remembered.

Alcohol, is taken as a light subject with the young generation. It's a part of exploration, it's how we learn to have fun, and it's what the cool people do. Alcohol, is apparently a passing phase that you are bound to go through when you succumb to peer pressure. Yes, that's what they all say. Until drinking for the "coolness" of it becomes drinking for pleasure then becomes drinking for sanctuary and finally drinking for very survival.

Alcohol on it's own isn't that much of a troublemaker, not unless addiction comes in unison to form this unbeatable force of evil that ruins jobs, studies, families, friendships and life as a whole. It can come in like the sly fox it is, slowly creepy into your system like a deadly virus and lodge itself with a firm grip. Then you become it's submissive, you yearn for more of it as it's affect releases you from the choke hold of reality. Or so you think, the high gives you courage to do thinks you wouldn't even have thought of for a jiffy. It gives you a state of euphoria that damages everyone and everything else around you. Then, that becomes the only reason why you live. Every single move in your day is an excuse to relish in it's solace. You find reasons, you are desperate for incentives and before you know it, your world is on self - destruct mode. You brought this onto yourself.
You paid for the bottle that made you drink till you sweat out liqour, you were sober when you started drinking, you forgot about your family, you forgot about their feelings. You crave for their attention with your vivacity and the chaos you're making. But they chose to ignroe you.
You realize you're slowly dying a slow death. You lost your friends, you lost your family, you lost all hope and you miss love. With nothing other than that bottle that started this wreckage to accompany you, you tread in a slow pace hoping for a last chance to take it all back and start fresh and clean. But no, you're almost there, you've almost reached your final resting place. I guess it's too late now, you shouldn't have turned the deaf ear to concerned advices, you shouldn't have raised your voice against caring actions, you should have listened for your own good after all.

Aryabhatta asks

Dancing Triangles

What happened to the good old isosceles triangle, scalene and  equilateral triangle? And since when did the sides of a triangle turn into sine and cos?
I look around and I can see these huge equations dancing around, in a movie that would be how you interpret a genius mind, in real life, for me it's just pointless 3 letter words that is guaranteed to ruin my mood.  I'm just looking right through it all, I don't get how I would need to find out the tangent of the fish I'm going to buy. Yes, it's probably why we have advanced so much. But leave trigonometry to the people who actually want to learn it.
Every line in every solution of every equation has a different approach,it's either you're some abnormal human being or it's luck. There is no LOGIC in trigonometry.

This is trigonometry for me:
To get the number of leaves on the tree outside my house, first you have to multiply the number of ribs of all the cats together then multiply it by the number of Overly Attached girlfriend memes on Facebook. Divide the total and now you will know how many people like the Garfield movie. ( cats * memes = grumpy cat = Garfield) Then add the population of Slovakia. Then you get the fraction which should be added to the aquariums in Uganda and finally you get the number of fruits in the stall near my aunts house in Texas, multiply by the distance between the two places and get into her house. Go to her phone, dial my number and ask me to study instead of checking how many leaves I have on my tree.

Namaste.

Rainy Days

The south west monsoon is here, and this time it is much awaited. After the smoldering heat that nearly killed us all, here comes the showers of blessings! Or at least it was a blessing till the clouds thought it was too cool, started showing off and thus becoming a big issue for those at Uttarkhand. (As you read this, please pray for those whose lives have been brutally destroyed thanks to these showers)

The monsoons this year have really come by force, we had a week off at school thanks to the damage it caused all around. Almost everyday we sit in front of the news as though it is some extremely interesting show with a really good suspense and everyone is looking forward into knowing who actually stole the ring. But nope, it's just the same old NDTV, and we look at the really fast moving news that they show at the bottom hoping to see Cochin in the group of jurisdictions which have a day off. That was how it is for us, we make bets and gamble on the next day, we predict the rain forecast and pretend like we are real meteorologists. At the end, I think we all shall make really good weather people. The rain battered down on the roofs and window panes drumming a violent yet soothing rhythm. Some people curled up in a ball with a book and a cup of something hot, some played games of football drenched and dirty, some cursed the rain for their fevers and diseases and some hoped that the sun would somehow show it's face because all this water is just too overwhelming. And I'm somehow all of it.

I am lying down on the bed because I have got fever (thanks to the rain) because I played in the mucky slushy place (thanks to the rain), which is why I'm cozy and comfortably cold (thanks to the rain) and I somehow wish that I would stop being so lazy (thanks to the rain).

Nothing would suffice the feeling of having nice hot Maggi noodles and listening to the heavy downpour. Along with the continuous battering of the raindrops, there are some distinct ones which are heard because some hipster raindrops decide to feel up the trees then splash to the ground. That's rain for you. The perfect time to go for an adrenaline pumping fast drive with some close friends or maybe lightning photography. Surpringly, I haven't seen any thunderstorms. It's just rain, rain and more rain, none of it's scary counterparts this time

Two months back, I would do anything to live the moment I'm at. And now, I am desperate to see sweat drip down my forehead and complain about the scorching heat. I guess that's how I am, or how everyone is, never happy with what we have. If there was complete satisfaction, then I guess we would have been content with life and that means we wouldn't be yearning for more. If no more striving happens, then no more development. Well well well, what do you know, turns out even this hole in our heart that can never be filled also known as greed and desire has its good sides.

Udagamandalam-ness

I'm en-route to Ooty, in my uncle's tempo traveller. Continuous chatter overpowers the song playing in my ears. Little kids cry, laugh and have a jolly good time towards the back. Little laser dots are dancing without music in and around the van. The engine's slow and monotonous hum just stays. People talk about food, which makes my stomach rumble reminding me that its time for another refill of yummy goodness.  It's a family holiday we stayed our night at Wayanad, played countless rounds of UNO and almost every time my 8 year old cousin beat me. I've got a week before I go back to textbooks, hostel, hag wardens and fun with my friends. This summer, was the least eventful. I stayed at home and did what I do best, use the laptop. 10th grade starts and I'm least bit excited. I know how the teachers are gonna tell us we're big kids and la la la. But hey, if you considered us kids last year we're still the same. One year doesn't move mountains. My mum is beside me and she's reading this, which is why I should tell her that I love her. My little cousin cries, music is on and there's murmurs all around. But I'm just enjoying Keith Urban and the scenery outside.
The Ooty Aroma
You enter Ooty after all those dizzying hairpin bends and the first thing that hits you is the horse dung aroma. Well, obviously if there are more horses than humans, it's sure to overpower the Tamil-ness smell of this place. After that, rows rows and rows of a gazillion eucalyptus trees come in view. And that's pretty much all you see for a long time. That's the best part about Ooty. It refreshes you, clears off that stuffy nose, wakes up the senses and you just tend to INHAAAAAAAALLEEEE, the eucalyptus trees. I love them, they've been around to welcome me every time I've ever visited this popular hill station.

They must have witnessed many accidents, many serendipitous moments and they're used to bikes and cars zooming past them. They too must have heard ghost tales, they too would have had people etching in their initials, they too were a part of some love story. And yet they remain, so quite and still, watching the world revolve, evolve and change. They don't complain, they don't crib. They are trees and they are the real children of Mother Nature, intact they're Mother Nature herself.
